Dentures are removable plates that are used to replace missing teeth. They are custom made to fit your mouth and can be made from various materials.
Dentures can sit on your gums, on existing teeth or alternatively sit on dental implants.
Dentures have been the only replacement for lost teeth for many years. There are now more modern and better options, especially dental implants.
Bridges can also be offered for small gaps.
A common complaint about dentures is that they can become uncomfortable and loose. This no longer is an issue as dentures can be retained using dental implants combined with new manufacturing techniques and materials that make dentures more comfortable.
They can look artificial and draw attention to them. However, we have skilled dentists who use materials which look very natural.
So there is no need for uncomfortable Dentures anymore?
By using implant retention, your dentures can be held very firmly in place. This involves placing dental implants, usually in the lower jaw, to anchor the dentures in place, holding them firmly.
Will Dentures affect my speaking and eating?
Over time you will adjust to changes and become more comfortable eating and speaking. With dental implant, eating and speaking should be the same as when you had your own teeth.
